Once again I here it said "When it's that close it shouldn't count as a life lost if it goes against you"

Well sorry but yes it should. That's the nature of the risk and eventually bowlers will consider whether or not thy should refer unless the umpire has made a complete howler.

I think Ballance is ok at three. It' just I don't see Trott as a long term opener but there is nowhere for him to go in the middle order.
