I've never had a problem with sledging as long as it doesn't get too personal.

Some batsmen thrive on it.

I don't have a problem with Samuels doing that, if you are going to spend all day sledging a batter then you have to be prepared for him to answer back when he reaches a 100.... a good example was Sreesanth v Nel..... Nel spent a long time shouting and snarling at Sreesanth, so his bat wave dance response was ok.

Personally I think its the person who starts the battle that is the wrong party. If Stokes had gone back to his mark and didn't get involved then Samuels may not have been as focused to contribute and wouldn't have aimed his celebration at Stokes.

I didn't say I had a problem with him doing it

I have a problem with people saying sledging is unacceptable but things like this are just "fun"

Was it Steve Waugh who once commented on arriving to the crease in silence...."Fine, Ill talk to my f*cking self then".... and proceeded to sledge himself

I'm ok with both Samuels and Stokes's actions, as long as it doesn't go overboard, ie fistycuffs.

I think the whole sledging thing is childish, pathetic and wholly unnecessary.

Mind you I'd love them to have a good punch up!

You'll need the sledging before you can get the punch up. I reckon Stokes would be a man to avoid getting into a punch up with.

Steely seems to have set a trend.

Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

There are a range of different ways if provoking a reaction though. Some are acceptable, some less so, and some are reprehensible.
