He's eight on the BBC scorecard, I thought that would be the one handed in by the captain.

So Wood, Tredwell, Plunkett, Rashid, Lyth could be available for the ODI, as well as the named Bairstow. Maybe Tredwell and Wood?

Aggressive bowling hasn't compromised Rashid's wicket taking ability. Tredwell's lack of aggression was the difference between winning and drawing the 1st test.

Not defending them Al, just that's what I'm reading.

Might find out where Stokes is batting soon enough. One down.

think we can safely say the trott experiment as opener has failed and that dismissal today doesn't bode well for the summer with the pace attacks we will be facing

Trott has three ducks in the series.

Can't see how they can keep Trott now. There's no room for him in the middle order and Lyth is worth a go in the NZ series I would have thought.

I would agree, but doesn't the fact that Trott is opening in this game mean its likely he'll open in the first test against NZ at the end of this month. I for one hope not, but surely Lyth would have to play in this game for him to stand any chance of playing in the NZ series.

as I said above it was as much the way he got out today that would worry me

he'll be facing better pace attacks against NZ and Aus than what he has on this tour
