Cook really should be given a lot of credit for this knock.

Other than running out Ali, he has stood firm whilst others have failed.

6 down now, and the opener and captain is still there. Well played so far, can he get 100

He's put up with some tough times in the last couple of years, but he's finally done it. Good boy Cook.

Now, time for a Daddy...

much needed innings from cook :clap

both for him personally and in the match situation

not gonna change my reservations about him as captain but I have always said we need cook the batsman scoring runs as an opener with the year we have ahead

Great reception from the crowd, his team mates and the wives, really pleased for him.

Well done Cooky, let's hope this is a return to form that can last throughout the year :)

Spun a bit though. Not a great pitch, variable bounce, slow and dry, should take a fair bit of spin by day three or four. 240-7 might be a fair score, run scoring should be tough the whole match.

was short and wide , for cook that's a ball he would usually leave let alone in the last over of the day , he'll really be kicking himself getting out like that

doesn't take away from the innings he played tho , especially with wickets tumbling regularly at the other end

Didn't bounce as much as he thought it would, should see more variable bounce as game progresses.

This article made me tear up. Never agreed with bringing him back but genuinely sad to see him go out this way. :(

A good day for the windies after being asked to field. Of course they still have to bat. 300 could be a decent score? Well done to the much maligned Cook, who is still important to our future batting line up.
