Can't give Moeen Ali any leeway when he is prefered to two perfectly fit spinners in Rashid and Tredwell, the latter who has done litle wrong in the 1st test.
The ECB management are effectively saying to prospective frontline spin bowlers in County Cricket (and lower down the cricket pyramid) that you must bat as well to play for England.
It's like Cricket Australia deciding that the next spin bowler after Shane Warne is Michael Clarke or Glenn Maxwell, or Cricket South Africa opting to play JP Duminy as a frontline spinner, or likewise New Zealand Cricket with Kane Williamson.
