England creating chances. McC was criticised, and patronised, for over attacking, but the ball swung all day and he wanted to take his chances. I think he was right. He may be proved right.

I don't think this is a pitch where chances come often, so you want to encourage batsman that shots are there to score, and have fielders in places to take chances that come along.....

Im convinced that the par score is 450-600, even if I am alone. I just don't see anything in this pitch after the morning session yesterday.

Flat pitches will kill test cricket.

It is a poor pitch for a test, but then again, England's top order still managed to get out quickly on it.

The more I watch, the more I am utterly confused how Cook was bounced out on this wicket.... he could of had a sandwich, a tea, read his paper... and then creamed that pull shot to the boundary.

England have bowled shorter than NZ first up... they need to pitch it up more, take a few risks with catchers in.

Traditionally England's ability to break big partnerships has been poor. Doesn't matter whether its opening partnerships or tenth wicket ones we excell at being unable to do sod all about it.
