Awful marking for the corner though, talk about zonal marking. How on earth Karen Bardsley is supposed to retrieve the ball?!

Steph did well to get to the ball though, get out of jail card nicely played there.

Fitness levels at the end seemed to show badly. England never technically good enough, and at the start they were bullied off the ball all over the park.... Norway looked utterly shot after the hour mark.

Could have something to do with the relative fitness facilities at Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool and Stabæk Fotball Kvinner..... the latter itself only existing because the most successful team in Norway Womens football, Asker, went bankrupt a few years back and had to be dissolved. They used to play right next to my house, but now they only have an amateur team in a lower league.

Its pretty embarrassing when you think about it that England should look so technically inferior to the Norway team.... Stabæk sports must rank womens football under a whole host of mens and womens winter sports.

How they compete with Premier League feeder structures is something at least to be proud of

Norway have just played a full season, English season is just starting, might be responsible.

Norway's football season is not even half way through, they only started playing late March or early April, its a physical impossibility to play anything that doesnt involve a skate or ski before that this far North. The Toppserien can only be about 10 matches in, they suspended it because the top two teams contribute most of the team and it was unfair to continue it, and they dont start again till next month.

They always take a mid season break if the national team is involved in international competitions. It doesnt happen much for the men though.
