Thankfully Middlesex are repeating their escape act against us last week, right now against Notts. From 132-6 they have moved onto 274-7.

Notts have just over 25 over left to take two more wickets and get max bowling points.

Turning to our game against Worcs, in many ways I'm hoping we play on the same pitch that Worcs-Durham are currently playing a t20 on. Yes Ajmal will probably knock us over for nothing, but right now that's happening to us any way. So no difference there. But it might just allow us to them over for nothing too. Could stuggle to get the game into day three, if it is the same pitch (which it must be, I can't see another has been prepared!)

EDIT: Actually, no. There is one wicket which is covered by material. So maybe that one will be used against us.

To be honest there is very little fight in the team right now so I doubt they'll be any more indiscretions this season.

Grim times for us Hants fans, 5 losses on the spin used to be saved for the beginning of the season! Still it doesn't seem long ago I was staggering home from Lords after the T20 win taking us top after our CC win agains Sussex. We've got to remember that he's been coming back from an injury, and has almost no experience of English conditions.

Hopefully if this is the cobwebs well and truly removed, and he can pick wickets up like this from now until the end of the season, then him and Fidel could keep us up by themselves.

If the ECB ever decide to proceed with this three divisions of six teams each idea, I'm going to be all for it. We personally really need a division between D1 and D2.

Worcs would be in division 2 aswell and we've been pretty poor against them this season. I'd wager the way we're playing right now we're more D3 than D2.

No way. I know we're poor right now, but you can't just ignore how poor the likes of Leics, Gloucs and Glamorgan were against us over the last three years.

Us, Worcs, Lancs and Surrey would all benefit from there being a middle division. And Kent and Essex would have chance of escaping from the above names, even if only for one season at a time.
