There has been some talk about the lack of a northern Test.

The press have been very confident about England doing well, so maybe they know.

Seems like everyone is thinking that this test series will be much closer than originally expected.

Ill got for 3-1 Australia :rasta

And surely M Marsh will be playing the first test.

3 or 4 nil to Australia. I expect Australia's fiery pace attack to be far too much for England to handle.

ponting is a twat for saying that your captiancy record and players records are only really based on Ashes cricket.
What a stupid crap to say.
the hype Ashes get is a disgrace.

To be honest in England, and to a lesser degree in Australia, it is.

TBH that should change.
Can't think of any Ashes bullies for England but Would you class Brad haddin as a great test player just because he good at the ashes.

I find it rude and annoying especially when fans or pundits want pak, NZ, Wi and other countries to like test cricket and when they do play Test cricket their only get 2-3 test and games/records are overshadowed because only the Ashes matters.

Crickey just Seen Dennis Amiss record but looked like a quality player just terrible against Australia.
If Cook fails in the Ashes would you really say he had a terrible career for having a terrible record in the Ashes apart from one series.

Wasn't watching cricket in the nighties but was the Ashes hype the same when england spent 18 years losing the Ashes.
I really enjoyed the 2005 and 09 ashes when the stupid comments and over the top hype wasn't presents although wouldn't surprise me if Sky played a part for the over the top comments considering they re branded a channel for the series and probably are told to hype it up a lot just like they do with football and other sports.
I hope no one in these board has the same believe that one of my mates have, he rates Ian botham higher than Imran khan because he won more ashes the scary part was he was being serious.

The only reason I hate the ashes hype is that their are too many fake cricket fans in this country that watch only the ashes and when ever the ashes arrive even the real cricket fans act like twats.

it is not healthy for the game when 30-50% more viewers only watch ashes and are repeatedly told only the ashes cricket matter more of these people need to watch more English cricket and not just the ashes.

Both teams? Have you forgotten who your captain is?

He's promised us positive Cricket, after the success of the ODI side. We'll have to wait and see.

just reminded me from a comment yesterday when someone said the Conservative didn't expect to win a majority so were not expecting to actually cut the 12bn welfare cuts they actually promised before the elections.
