Because no one enforces the follow on any more. The pitch is a pudding, and they'll be hoping something happens to it in the next day.

Seems to be no reason why England can't save this match.

Everyone seems to think the pitch is pretty flat.

The problem for England is they seem incapable of seeing off the new ball, which is imperative on this pitch.

Rodgers in the runs again. I think someone in the Australian set up needs to have a quite word in his ear about retiring after this series. With out him Australia would have been in some trouble. Tomorrow it could well be 9 50's in 10 innings. Australian batting line up needs that consistency.

From the highlights i have seen Nevill looks better behind the stumps then Haddin. Also seemed like he batted pretty well. Do they really want/need to bring Haddin back in?

Not so fast. Kazakhstan are 2-1 up, but they haven't beaten Aus yet.

Assuming Australia can bat on until just before tea tomorrow or a lead of say 500, then that's about when I would declare, now Clarke of course will likely do nothing even remotely close to that.

Yep I would bowl about 15 overs at England before tea and keep an eye on when the second new ball would be due on the 5th day.

There are actually on target to have a lead of about 500, 15 overs before tea so they may work out to be spot on.
