Chelsea fall foul of the old adage of not making a substitution when you are about to defend a corner

big time for the goal after city had just looked to tighten things up as well and now have a 2 goal lead to defend

If Arsenal are not going to win the league (and they're not!), then I would much rather City win than Chelsea win it. City at their best are a joy to watch. Chelsea however are usually really quite painful to watch. Strong, effective, efficient. A mirror image of their manager (and I have huge respect and admiration for Jose, given that it does bring success). But as a neutral, it's not the football which I want to watch.

So this result is very pleasing.

good win for city

if kompany and toure can keep performing well it just gives them such a strong spine to the team with aguero up front as well

I was particularly impressed with four of our perceived weaker squad members today - Sagna, Mangala, Kolarov and Fernandinho. Perhaps defensive reinforcements are not required after all.

jose cannot honestly believe Chelsea were the best team in the second half

saying it was a tactical decision to take terry off as well , no injury, that's an interesting call

Big call taking Terry of. Maybe saying to Roman he needs a new CB?

As for Chealski being the better team in the second half, that is hugely funny.

One of the better games so far this season, really impressive from Man City. If they can improve to twice this level they may be able to challenge Barcelona.

First glimpse of the reason Man City parted serious cash for Mangala today, I thought he was the player of the match.

Chelsea were pretty much beaten by a team pretending to be them... Man City looked powerful, organised, and ruthless.

At times when Chelsea's midfield dont stretch the play enough, it is obvious that they lack the width in their game from Ivanovic and Azpilacueta, both of whom are stoppers and dont get involved going forward. They were crying out for someone to overlap the wingers in the second half. Nothing came of it

Should Chealski be worried. Many peoples favourites to retain the title. They have conceded 5 in 2 games. Lost to Arsenal in community shield. Struggled against Swansea at home and thoroughly out played by City.

maybe a bit early to be worried but they haven't really strengthened since last year and were unconvincing for a lot of the second half of the season last year I thought , it was just everyone else was worse

unless falcao is a helluva lot better than he was last year at united they are going to rely heavily on costa again

Some worries for Chealski at the back in that Ivanovic and Terry are not playing anything like they did at the start of last season. Cesc also is not looking like the player he was. They also seem to be lacking some creativity at present.

Very early in the season, but there are some worrying signs for them. Jose likes settled teams, but it looks like he will have to make some changes.
