Very much a reprise of how things went yesterday morning. Could be an attritional day in favour of batsmen.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Australians so far leaving on length. I remember in 2009 Mike Hussey did the same in England and was out several times in the series leaving balls, Nevill has been this series.... its a dangerous policy to do in England, but England are bowling so short they are happily doing it well.

Smith suggesting he's been written of prematurely. Anyone could have missed out at Edgbaston and Trent Bridge.

Last few overs as well, a few rank wide balls being smashed. This is neither attacking or defensive from England..... enough bad balls to score from, but no balls really attacking.

I dont mind bowlers over pitching to get the drive going if they get their lengths right after to attack or find swing, but this is mid pitch stuff that occasionally drifts too wide.

Not been a great innings, lots of mistimed attacking strokes could have seen his end, a few inside edges scrapped the stumps early yesterday.

To me, he looks like a player who asks a lot of himself before he is set because he looks a fine player once his hand-eye co-ordination gets going that sees the ball so well. When it swings, he also asks a lot of himself.

Get set, not much swing, he will score for fun.
