You can still make good cases for dropping half this team.

Still the Ashes are clinched and I don't suppose a thrashing really matters, except that its in keeping with this series so far.

Got to sort the opening partnership out, it's been ineffective since Strauss retired, how many tests ago was that?

I think Lyth may miss the winter tour. Buttler will go although it might be best if he is just a reserve keeper to Bairstow.

Hales got 189 for Notts today.

England have arguably sparked their own downfall. Not for the first time they've gone too defensive and not really gone anywhere, meaning the opposition can simply apply pressure and keep turning the screw. There was really no need for that to happen, but it has.

Hmm can't say I'm surprised.

This series will go down as the "roll over and die" series rather than the days of Steve Waugh's "never say die series".

Disappointing advertisement for test cricket and I think it's time the 5 test series for the Ashes needs some serious scrutiny.
