one of my pet hates is when I hear commentators go on about having people bat in the same position they do for their county

by definition the standard of the players around you in international cricket is going to be higher , so just because you may been seen as good enough to bat at #3 or #4 for a county side doesn't mean you are good enough to bat there in an international team, and to fit in the best top 7 you can based on ability you are inevitably going to have people batting lower for their country than they do for their county

if you are good enough you just adapt , if you cant adapt then you probably aren't good enough

was just about to say Roy isn't looking quite as comfortable against spin and he gets out to a really soft shot

if he had just committed to the shot instead of trying to chip it he would have cleared the fielder comfortably
