Strange game. First half Utd had almost total domination yet didn't look threatening in the box.

Second half was better. Good goal from Benteke then the new guy shows what he can do.

Still work to be done at Old Trafford but they're second in the table so they're doing something right.

Should Chelsea be worried about a top 4 finish? Are they having a similar season to 11-12?

I think Liverpool fans should be more worried

Liverpool were always going to struggle to get top 4. A lot will be expected of Sturridge if he ever makes it back. But they have not started well

But they are still 3 points ahead of Chelsea

Possibly a great year for another team to get top 4. Everton are making some nice early running, and Palace have been impressive.

Liverpool, Spurs, Utd and Arsenal were all awful for the whole of the first half of last season. Us, West Ham and Newcastle were all up there. Come April though, it was still the same old story.

The bigger squads will have the final say, as always.

Only if Jose uses his full squad, something he didnt do last year, even when the title was won. And a lot of his squad is on loan.......
This is a huge task for Jose, has he ever been in such a situation with a club? Can he turn it around, or will the pressure be to much.

If you were picking your top five candidates in the PL to finish that one-on-one off, Defoe would be one of mine all day long. Amazing that he only managed to hit the post. And against Spurs, of all teams.

Going to my first ever Premier League tomorrow.

Been to plenty of div one games in the eighties but never the Premier.

I might have to give up football for a bit after this. Costa should have had 5 yellows, gets one. Gabriel gets a straight red for walking into costa. Cazorla gets a second yellow for slightly miss timing a tackle that was not at all malicious. Wouldn't piss on Costa, Mourinho et al if they were on fire.

Ivanovic foils arsenal players basically every 5 minutes, gets 1 yellow. Cazorla makes 2 fouls and gets 2 yellows. Campaign against Chelsea though

Yep just saw the replay of Costa getting up and chesting whomever it was. Poorly handled by the ref, and always thought that ref was weak.

He should have given Costa a yellow there and then and taken both players aside for a good old chatting to settle it down, not to mention the ref ruined a potential great game even for the neutrals.
