Early wicket for Broad. Misbah reviews, but it's out. Unless there's an edge.

50 for Shafiq. Maybe England wasting the new ball with this bumper war. Runs starting to come now.

Plenty of mentions that Shafiq has the same number of tons at six as Sobers, with eight each. Ian Bell has six, and an average of 60 (he was at six during in a career high). Maybe that is his best position.

I find it strange that Cook doesn't always have the same fielders in their accustomed positions. Yesterday I saw Rashid, Stokes, Anderson and Broad at backward point.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Maybe to do with conserving the energy of the bowlers?

Anderson on two warnings for running on the pitch. Next one and he can put his feet up. Can't imagine it will be good for his team to leave footmarks on the stumps.

Fine catch by Anderson and now another. Seven down.

I guess Shafiq will move up a spot when Misbah retires. Unless they retain Shoaib when Azhar comes back.
