It's criminal to play Moeen as opener...he doesn't have the technique. He should be batting at six, not eight.

the correlation between the demise of his defensive technique and his return to the ODI squad is very strong

two best batsmen in, one of these needs to go big otherwise we are facing a very tough task in this game

bell really could have left that

Not been in the ODI squad recently, he has no excuses

you completely missed my point

since he was brought back into the ODI a few years back his test form has collapsed, because he became so focused on learning to hit the ball he has lost his defensive technique

These two need to put on 200.

A wicket like this calls for patience. However those three are more hitters than blockers so we really need someone to stay with Cook, preferably Root.

I think your being generous. I think in the last couple of years he has lost his desire to play a little.

thats very likely because he hasnt been scoring very many runs, because he can no longer bat for more than 100 balls

The continued ignoring of Taylor, now by three different coaches, does suggest that the England setup must pick up on something they see wrong with him

They're shortist so Taylor isn't in the shortlist

It's one of their shortcomings not picking short players.

I think a short player (Bell) could be on his last tour as an England player. I was never one for dropping him in the past, as he's a class batsman, but this run of form can't be ignored forever.

I think Sussex might be right, Bell doesn't seem to have the hunger for the game anymore.
