Yes, once the openers got set it became a clinical performance both with bat and ball. Sharjah provided more spin in the test match so it might be a tougher examination for England.

Funny after the stick Roy and Hales got after the last ODI one makes 50 and the other a ton. In fact this was their 5th 50+ opening stand in just 12 ODIs as a pairing, and easily their most intelligent as a pairing. Might do some well to remember that next time one of them has a poor game.

They've got to do it consistently. No good them just dining out on this match. Our openers need to lay down a foundation every time.

Their is still lot of progress to be made in terms of

(1) Ranking
(2) Conversion of 50's into 100's and 100's into 150+ or 200+.
(3) Many players playing well in same innings
(4) Consistent performance in same series or trophy
(5) Many players with healthy average: SR ratio

Yes i am comparing to players like Warner Sanga Rohit Virat Amla ABD and some other prolific players of highly ranked teams.

These partnerships of 50+ runs is not that great in present time considering players are scoring well over 125+150+ 175 and in some cases 200+ 250+ individually

Credit for the one win to level the series so far but England are way behind in ODI format in many aspects. The comparison is tough but that's how it stand in this era as far as top teams are compared.
