Not Dunedin, though it was originally on my itinerary for Afghanistan v Scotland. Then I discovered England and New Zealand women playing two matches at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval that week, which tied in nicely for the West Indies v Pakistan and England v Scotland matches at Christchurch.

A right suntrap is Hagley Oval - kept applying sunscreen every 20 minutes and ended up with heat rash on my arms the rays were that strong. Luckily I had my England panama hat on, the following day England got destroyed at the Westpac, which encouraged comment from a couple of locals.

I highly recommend, a beautiful country to go and visit. I just like it how the urban areas are not entirely concrete jungles and you're never far away from the diverse rural landscape. Got my eye on making another visit, particularly when England tour there in 2018.

Chandimal is likely to remain a fixture in this team, which has a number of passengers...the Sri Lankans, who filled their boots against the West Indies, are finding New Zealand to be a different kettle of fish.

Karu and Chameera look like prospects, but Kusal, Jayasundera, Siriwardana and Vithinage all look like they're just passing through. And if Lakmal and Pradeep are your best pacers, then your cupboard is really bare....
