As for Guardiola, I dont think he is up for United. He seems to struggle with the consistent pressure of top jobs, after all that success at Barcelona he looked and acted like a bit of a broken man at the end, and his Bayern tenure has been all about when he would leave, there never seemed a long term appointment there. He does very well, but the pressure to recycle that success or move on seems to get to him. He is a bit of a Mourinho in that regards, never more that 3 years in a job before he wants to move on. Man United dont need that imo, they need a guy willing to be there until he is not needed. He basically had to be dragged through his last two years at Barca, he clearly wanted to leave.

Chelsea wont sack Mourinho this season, if they were going to they would have done it imo 3 or 4 weeks ago, and his contract must be worth quite a bit to pay off.

Man City is the obvious fit for Guardiola if he came. That is the only place I can see him going to

It looks like quite a few Chelsea fans wanted him sacked but only if they could bring a top manager in.

Don't think any are happy at the prospect of Juande Ramos replacing Mourinho.

It's definitely possible. Sir Alex is a huge fan of Mourinho and i reckon Mourinho has always wanted to manage Man Utd.

I have a problem with the way football portrays managers as magicians with a wand they can wave, and in the process convert a mediocre team into a winning one....

The Glaziers won't have the money to attract a player of the quality of the 2014-15 Eden Hazard to Man Utd. So, without a star player of that quality, what will a Mourinho Man Utd look like? We all know that Mourinho's first priority is defence and a clean sheet.

Furthermore, Mourinho's abrasive personality usually means he doesn't stay longer than two or three years at any team. Is that what Man Utd want?

Ferguson's success was in that he was allowed time to build a system that worked, inclusive of not just coaching staff, but medical staff, physios, scouts, etc. That took years to set up. If Fergie had left Man Utd for another club, he would not have been able to wave a wand and create a winning team in the first season. It would've taken him years to institute a similar system at another club...it's no surprise than Fergie stayed at Man Utd.

The Glaziers need to figure out exactly what they want the post-Ferguson Man Utd to look like, and find a manager to fit that mold. It doesn't seem that they, or LVG, know what they want....

As for Chelsea and Abramovich, and what they want, words fail me....

I really can not see Jose ending up at United.

It is obvious he is not a long term appointment, specially after falling out with the Madrid players, and now the Chelsea players. He has a record of falling out with his star players. Jose will come with baggage.

And more importantly I can't see United supporters stomaching the way Jose would set the team up. After LVG the last thing United supporters will want is more dour football.

Will miss the crazy antic of Jose in the premiership, but Chelsea had no choice as he had lost the team.

Mourinho wanted that job all along. He kissed Fergusons arse for years for it, and hinted massively he wanted to replace him.

Mourinho is successful, after a third year without a title United fans would love him to come in for a year or two and win. His teams are boring, but his record is to win lots. Its easy to fault his record at Real and recently, but he lost the title twice to a Barcelona team that went a sniff away from 100 points, and the title he won in the grand scheme of things in the future will standout as one of the few times Barcelona at their peak were beaten. He did pretty well there! This season is the only real blemish!

I think he would be a great fit for them. A successful manager in English football with a proper philosophy and with a title in every spell as manager, and two of the most impressive European achievements in history.

Form is temporary, class is permanent, and he will learn from these mistakes. He is still the best manager out there, if a team willingly turns that down when failing to live up to its own expectations, then I am surprised.

I also dont blame him for losing the Real dressing room. Casillas was terrible, and tried to start a battle against his manager when he dropped him. Real players, certain ones, have always had too much power and its a reason they underachieve a lot. I dont think you can blame a manager for dropping an over-rated has been
