Odd way for Stokes to get out, shame for him not to get 300 or be not out. Still can't pick too many faults with that innings.

Great for Bairstow to get his first ton.

Now, is this just a dead track or have South Africa just lost the plot.

In normal circumstances that bairstow knock would be a great one

I don't think we need a ranking system to tell who are good, and who are not.

true, but if they are adamant to have one, ICC should fix it.
Especially when ICC give money and qualification based on it.* ODI and T20 events + the last test playoff spot.
plus always funny when player/fans use the ranking system when it suits them lol.
really waiting for a guy on another thread to start hating the rankings.
this pakistani fan always goes on about the ranking when it suit him lol.

Saying that don't really know which team is number 1 now.
Aus don't look like a number 1 team.
England got potential but far too early.
India too early and need to win away from home.
SA transition don't even have the talent to be top again anyway.
Sri lanka/pakistan/West indies will never really be number 1.
NZ probably not enough depth to be number 1.

Don't really agree with that assessment of South Africa to be honest. Yes they are struggling to replace Smith and Kallis but any side would struggle to replace players who are some of the best to play the modern game. Kallis has been a huge blow as he was arguably the best batting allrounder ever to play and certainly the best since Sobers and that has caused havoc with their team balance.

If you look at South Africa, they have three top class batsmen all of whom are struggling for form at the same time and they are missing their two best bowlers, I don't think any side would play well in those situations! They are a far better side than we have seen over the last few months.

Out of the best of the rest, Australia look the top side at the moment if Burns and Ussie can keep going and they can keep their bowlers fit. England are starting to look a very good side with all of the bases covered, but need to play at this level for a lot longer before any judgement can be made. The Kiwis are a difficult side to beat but we need to see how well they deal with the captaincy transision and they need another top batsmen to come through. India are very good at home, they always have been, they need to win away from home to make a case. Pakistan need to win away from home. Sri Lanka, Windies are a long way off the pace.
