He has about as much chance of being the new Man Utd manager as I have of growing a 3rd leg.

Not sure why. He'd win Utd the PL within three years of taking charge of them.

The fans want a big name. Mourinho, Guardiola, Ancelotti. Admittedly Pochettino is bigger than those three, but only in terms of letters count.

We've completed the signing of Benik Afobe from Wolves for around 9 million.

Hopefully he can fill the hole left by Callum Wilson.

Wolves rejected bids of near 20 million for him in the summer from Norwich..... so I have to assume he hasnt been that good this year?

I hear the owner at Wolves is looking to sell the club now, so maybe liquidating a few assets.

Rumour says that we offered Norwich 8 million for Grabban last week, but they turned us down, so we switched for Afobe. Not sure if Norwich tried a counter bid on this deal but Wolves appeared to be having none of it.

Must admit I'd rather go for youth and potential than have players like Grabban and Defoe back again.

Not as keen on this signing, but maybe one or two will be leaving, and better to get deals done at the beginning of January than in a rush at the end.

LVG is a big name. That's worked out really well so far.

LVG is a big name. That's worked out really well so far.

I would like him tbh. I think fans would warm to him. Spurs play decent stuff. He's a very logical choice if available so we won't get him.

But he fits the United image, has no baggage like Jose and will play the "United Way"

Honestly if you go the ground, it does pay dividends to leave 5-10 minutes early. Saves you about 40 minutes as the metro just gets rammed once the game finishes.

I wait inside the ground for 10 minutes or so after the game ends, that way the rush has subsided and the walk back to the car is crush free.

Pretty crazy signing that. Sell him at the top of his game for 3 million, resign for a reported 7-9 million after he hasnt even played that much. Big risk that.... especially as it seems he was a bad influence at Norwich, always clashing with Neil.

One thing is clear though.... if Howe can spend 40 million on the Championship winners and still falls below Norwich at the end of the year, then Alex Neil will be a hotter property on the managers market.

I really like Neil a lot. He will manage a Champions League team in his career, got a strong idea of how he likes to play, hasnt wasted a penny of money in desperation, has essentially broke even on his transfers this year (leaving Norwich in a great financial state if they go down), and more than anything has the character of a top manager.

He is also bleeding every bit of talent out of one of the most underwhelming squads in Premier League history

A little bit, I said as much recently on this board. I think as a club they are pretty likable, with a young gifted manager who is sure in his conviction and isnt flustered into ditching his principles on or off the field.
