Vilas has had a good game so far, particularly after being flown in at the last minute.

Really good contest this with the match evenly poised.

Most catches going behind when batsmen playing away from the body - Root and Ali today got inside edges from a big gap between bat and pad.

Looking at averages of batters away from home since 2000, against top eight sides, as an indicator of tough runs, SA players score notably high.

England are going to have to bat last, which will be a big disadvantage. I would think anything more than 250 will be well out of reach.

Will it though? I know I'm banging on here, but scores don't tend to deteriorate on this ground. Not to say it will ever be easy to bat. A good spell or innings should decide the game.

Think anything over 300 would be out of england reach here.

300 is often a tough chase. And England are always liable to collapse. I think they'd be in with a decent chance though, particularly with SA's weakened attack, and its lack of variety.
