Indeed. Norwich leapfrogging Sunderland back to safety at current, and closing the gap that was starting to open between them and Bournemouth.

Going to be a really tough job for most of those teams. Newcastle spent money in January and wont be down there all season imo. Sunderland have big Sam just starting to turn them round a little and are survival specialists in the last few years.

Id be worried if I were a Norwich or Bournemouth fan.... and I would have lost all hope if I were a Villa fan. Swansea feel too good to go down over the others (as I type Shane Long puts them 1 down)....

After that Chelsea are too good to get wrapped into the relegation battles, and West Brom already have 32 points which means it would take a disaster for them to drop into it.

We were poor today, a lot of lethargy in the side. Afobe has bags of potential but he's no Callum Wilson in the work rate and harrying of defenders stakes. Still 50 50 whether we avoid the drop, and my seat at the game today is the worst I've had as I have to wait longer and longer before I can book a ticket.

Still I did sit next to a very nice lass today, who if I had been 20 years younger and single.....

We've got you and Sunderland in the space of five days in a couple of weeks, so we'll continue to have a hand in a relegation battle for a short time to come.

In my book, it's one from you, Sunderland, Newcastle and Swansea.

Villa and Norwich are all but gone (although I can see Villa getting something tomorrow). Not total write-offs, but both in desperate trouble. Conversely, today's win was huge for WBA, and the season will probably finish too soon for Palace to fall into the bottom three even if they don't end their continuing slump.

I don't know which of the four will be the team to Vila and Norwich. Far too close to call. All I'll say is that any relegation threatened club who has Big Sam in the dugout and Defoe leading their forward line will have a real chance of staying up.
