I'm not sure England will lose too much in having Plunkett in place of Finn. Their chances surely rest to a great extent on whether the batting group can score heavily : if they can , I suspect Plunkett may well fill the role of fast/highbounce bowler quite well - then over to the spinners...

I'd guess SL look likeliest to get to the semis from the other three. The game tomorrow between England and West Indies is a big one for both sides. Win this, and a defeat to SA won't knock you out.

If the wickets are good and the ones you get for the IPL then Sri lanka are not winning a game.

I hope for the tournament stake the pitch are not turning because if they are turning no one challenging India for the title.
it really needs flat, good pitches for the likes of England, South Africa, Australia and NZ to challenge india for the title.

Pakistan and Sri lanka are too weak to challenge india even if the pitches are turning square.

Since on paper Eng, SA, Aus, NZ, WI are all better teams
it is a reason why bookies have sri lanka at 22/1 and Pakistan 16/1

Reckon these are the highest odds ever for a full member side excluding bangladesh and Zimbabwe for an icc event.

IF you really think sri lanka will make the semis or look likely bet on them to make the semis you should get 3 or 4/1 for them.
