Well it was a bit of a rugby scrum at the time, and eye gouging is the norm in that situation!

I think Rugby players get hefty bans for gouging?

The best way of dealing with Costa is to laugh at him.

I don't think it was much of a gouge from what I saw, he was half pushing him away. Similar to Costa's bite on Barry, not sure Costa even got punished for that. As far as I'm aware Dembele hasn't got a reputation for being a dirty player so this was a bit out of character and massively provoked.

Skybet this morning have Leicester 40/1 to win the title again next season but 33/1 for them to be relegated.

Shorter odds to go down than be champions again. Obviously feel it's a flash in the pan.

I think because Barry said he wasn't bitten?

I don't think he did, but the intention was there, and he just stopped himself in time. Costa and Suarez are clearly out of similar moulds, have the potential to carry out assaults that most people wouldn't dream of.

I see Dembele got a six match ban, and I understand Spurs were going to appeal against anything over three. I personally think three would have been fair as it wasn't a proper gouge and Costa wasn't unduly damaged, and there was significant provocation from a known nasty individual.

Not sure where you heard that, I heard Poch say they would accept any punishment they were given

On Talk Sport last night.

I may have misheard it, that in fact they were disputing the extended ban at the tribunal.

Looks like there is no right to appeal.

He or Spurs can't really complain with a six game ban. They need to get their heads on the next game and seal 2nd spot.
