Warm!

Can't be Milner, he's of limited ability and makes little effort.

Plenty of effort, though lacking in the talent part.

Palmer?

Smalling is arguably our best CB, and thankfully won't be played in midfield.

do you really think so?

he looks like a big useless ungainly lump to me, hence the Carlton Palmer thing (he really does look far too much like him to be healthy)
Always seems to be out of position and dozing. I don't rate him even a little

so hopeless and hapless that he ought to be wearing a Newcastle shirt, rather than a Manchester United one

I can see Smalling taking part in next year's great British sewing bee... lets do it for sports relief, discussing the relative merits of overlocking versus a chain stitch....

while in the bath, obviously

In the top 5 CBs in the league this season for me. Started out very well although his form has fell away a bit.

England vs Turkey tonight. Only realised 10 minutes ago. It will be a big game for the few who are uncertain of a place in the Euros.

Wilshere is nowhere near being fit and shouldn't go, and Hodgson has to start Vardy.

Why would England play 4-4-2-? Vardy isnt as good as Kane, so I just dont see it working.

I'm amazed Wilshire was even considered.

I can understand the thinking of Wilshere, Id pick him if fully fit without Henderson being match fit.....

But he isnt fit. Not even close.

They obviously can't play the Leicester way, but with Welbeck out, Vardy can take his place on the right with Kane in the centre, as they have today. I assume todays formation was something like 4-3-3 and went to 4-4-2 after Sterling went off. Not keen on Sterling playing left side though but he may get the nod. I guess Hodgson will want Rooney to play, so he can play in the position Wilshere started in today.

No, he went for the 4-4-2 diamond today. It didnt really work apart from the first 10 minutes when England scored and had other chances.

I think Vardy has a role as an impact sub, but England playing him is beginning to compromise on too many areas of the field.

I am ever tempted to think Roy needs to sacrifice Dier's presence in midfield and play him in defence. The amount of times Stones got caught out of position against a relatively poor side was shocking.
