He won't, as Josh Poysden is coming in for him.

As a rule though, if it happened to someone else in the future their points would be included.

Interestingly Warwickshire sent Woakes in at no. 1 today, in the hope that he would survive as a "night-watchman plus" before departing for Chester-le-Street tomorrow.

Hutton has come in for Ball at Notts. what would happen if I'd had him as 12th man, say, instead of 16th man, and he'd vaulted in over Palladino who has been playing for me?

Would Palladino stop scoring when Hutton took over, but keep what he already had and how would you calculate it?
Would all Palladino's points be lost leaving Hutton half a match to score and could there be a situation where Palladino lost 40 runs and 6 wickets with Hutton coming into a game where Notts have nearly won and he doesn't really feature?
Would you just leave the players as they were on day one and everyone accepts that it is just too hard to accomodate England's arrangements in this FL with the tools that you have available to you?

I would probably lean towards the last option, but you'll know what your spreadsheet is capable of, better than I do.

Sorry for asking lots of awkward questions, but it might come up one day, and it would be good if everyone knew how it might affect them and you won't have to make decisions 'on the hoof', as it were. I'm not aware that this has been a problem in previous years, but it might have been, and I just don't know about it, but you already have it covered.

Back to today's game, and I'm having a shocker. Almost no-one of mine is involved in a meaningful way, whilst the ones who are, are earning me virtually no points. SP, on the other hand, with his 10 man team, can't stop scoring runs to go with the plethora of wickets taken by his 3 bowlers on the first day....... and he will have his 3 bowlers all in action very shortly too.

I need someone to take some bloody wickets, because lack of them is killing me atm and I have plenty of bowlers in the game... trouble is they all seem to playing in games where no wickets are falling

If its a consolation DFM, Matt Coles is hanging in with Dickson on 32 not out.....

Anyway, I do see that Kent have served me a massive annoyance. Apparently a wayward throw might have broken Billy Godleman's hand as he was running a single....

no consolation at all SP.... after today I'm so far behind I have no chance at all. Beggars belief really......3 bowlers in the rejects side and one of them takes more wickets on his own than all of mine put together, whilst that incredibly powerful batting line up of Bragg, Dickson and Gubbins have scored about 400 runs today

Maybe a touch, but it's the same for both sides.

Again, works both ways: Ntini got fortunate this week with Woakes 9-fer whilst Bhavesh only missed out on a brace from Ball.


During the season their are probably 2 or 3 back-to-back tests where an injury during the first match might lead to a call-up from the next round of county games. All-in-all unlikely to impinge too much on a season long CFM

It's a tricky beast to keep control of (more so this year ) and simplicity in this case is (IMO) the best way forward.


PS: I guess I'm not getting Poysden's points (if he gets any!) as replacement for Woakes in CC1FL for this match
