Until yesterday I was in with a chance against Red but Leach and Mckay and the failure of Barker put paid to any chance I had.

The way the spreadsheets have been set up, it would automatically pick the first elven players from each squad that have participated in any way at all in that particular round of matches. So in your 3 scenarios the answers would be: No, Yes and No.

Maybe a touch, but it's the same for both sides.

something to bear in mind when selecting players from teams with possible England call ups in them.

Again, works both ways: Ntini got fortunate this week with Woakes 9-fer whilst Bhavesh only missed out on a brace from Ball.


During the season their are probably 2 or 3 back-to-back tests where an injury during the first match might lead to a call-up from the next round of county games. All-in-all unlikely to impinge too much on a season long CFM

It's a tricky beast to keep control of (more so this year ) and simplicity in this case is (IMO) the best way forward.


PS: I guess I'm not getting Poysden's points (if he gets any!) as replacement for Woakes in CC1FL for this match

difficult to comprehend how badly my team has performed in this match.

also odd that Northants, with a total playing staff of about 12, felt able to rest Kleinveldt which makes me worry that he might be injured. I hope not, because he's in my div 2 FL as well

You not seen pictures of Klenvedlt recently? The guy looks at least 3-4 stone overweight. I was shocked when I was looking at the county boards and there was a picture of him celebrating a wicket last week. The guy is huge, I am even shocked he can complete a run up to bowl.

Not really registered any scores today, and I know Rayner is currently ironing out the Notts innings..... I think this will be closer than DFM imagines.

what a thumping by half a team

3 players scored more runs than my whole team, and 3 bowlers took more wickets than my whole team....... can't argue with that, really.... bad day at the office

Makhaya took 40 wickets against me, and his 12th man was Harry Gurney who got 9 himself

Sorry ian but another error this week, Tom Smith of Lancashire did not play so Payne of gloucs was in Red's team. I don't know how you've changed your system this year but it doesn't work as well as last year. It means Red won even easier as Payne took 3 wickets.

I think this one is correct HFTB. Tom Smith opened for Lancs and scored 59.

Id like to claim some tactical superiority, but then again, the next time Gubbins, Dickson and Bragg score 500 runs will be the time hell freezes over.

The planets align for the first time in a lifetime. Pretty lucky there.

Sorry ian I was completely bamboozled by him opening, I looked for him in the middle order where I thought he normally played. It must be his first game in 2 years.
