England open with Gareth bowling first over. Seems to put lot of finger spin on the ball rather than flight as he is bit quicker. Got enough spin and bounce. Good thing was he got the line and length correct right in the 1st over.

They are scoring far too quickly for my liking. That's been our spinners problem since Swann retired, too expensive.

Saturday of a test match, against a good side, one in which the cricket is exciting, Bangladesh came into the day in the ascendancy, and Bangladesh's first test match in 14 months, and yet they still can't attract even a modest crowd? If you can't get people to watch even under those circumstances, maybe your country shouldn't be hosting tests. Pathetic.

Totally unrelated, but the average wage in Bangladesh is £26 a month. Next time you hear people complain a pint a test in England costs £4, or that a test is poorly attended because people had to drive down a 4 lane M road 2 hours to get there, you might want to remember that.

The reality is that outside of the ashes countries attendances for test cricket have fallen dramatically. Even India can't sell out test matches any more. This Bangladesh crowd i saw was better than any day of the test series in the Caribbean between India and the west indies.

Young people around the world prefer limited overs cricket. When England visit the Caribbean early next year barmy army English men will outnumber locals by a long way. Test cricket is only a tourist attraction in the Caribbean now.

In the uae they had good crowds for the limited overs matches between Pakistan and the west indies but only three men and a dog turned up for the tests.
