You know it an even test match now when two different camps give two different opinions of the game.
india players are confident of Ashwin, jadeja and tail getting 100 run lead that will make india in the driving seat in the game and England obviously are happy for taking 6 wickets and having a chance of restricting India for not much of a lead and then batting india out of the game.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-eng ... 69300.html
"I would say that we have an advantage because both our allrounders are playing," Pujara said. "So tomorrow, the first session will be very crucial for us. Our game plan would be simple -- we would be looking to take a lead of 75-100 runs. If they continue to bat, you never know. Both of them can bat. We saw in the last game that Jayant Yadav can also bat. Our lower-order has been contributing in all the Test matches. We expect them to continue tomorrow as well."

I think we should get at least 70 runs lead as i posted before because we will have to bat last. Having 5 or 10 runs lead will be advantage England.

ICC are seriously a disgrace.
Really they should charge both players or none at all the selective rules they do will just cause more aggro in the long run.
How kohli didn't get punish and stokes did is baffling and even England know it.

Kohli is clearly above the law

Gets caught sucking mints to shine the ball and gives stokes a send off and gets no punishment

Yeah like I said during the Bangladesh series ICC sometimes don't help themselves.
Looking from far players going to start to lose trust if they carry on like this.
You only have to read Chappell faf article that shows how annoyed faf is to be accused of cheating.
Did like stokes celebration though.
Kohli pushing it lately when speaking to umpires as well.

Yep always been the case.
Not sure ICC been handling cases well since the Denness affair.
it wasn't a big deal before since ICC hardly handed out fines or charges for anything but if they starting to be strict now would be nice if they actually applied to rule to everyone in the same game or series.
in Bangladesh how english players got away Scott free when the same "excuse" for them not to be charged wasn't used for Stokes and the instigators Bangladesh players got a fine but Kohli didn't but Stokes did for reacting to it but buttler was fine.
Thought bumble tweet on pakistan overrate fine was quite revealing as well.
"Hope there are more to follow ...Misbah will be a bit miffed that he has been spotlighted"

Stokes did nothing wrong if Buttler was fine, and the bangladesh players were saints compared to what Kohli been doing lately.

Going to say this again, give all the players the same punishment or none at all.
ICC are needlessly causing Tension that can spiral out of control especially when the press in india are saying Kohli/india will be targeting Stokes now since he at risk of missing games for England and Newman plus other said Anderson appeal in the morning was because of Stokes punishment last night.
if kohli got punished suspect both camps would be far more happy and harmonious to each other than what they are now.
The picture we getting now is that indian player hate English players and the english players hate indian players, they couldn't even praise the opposition when they do well which the media been commenting on as well.

perhaps you could shed some light on what was said since you seem to know it all? Stokes was fined for obscene or offensive language - what makes you think that Kohli also said something obscene? Trust me - if Kohli had said anything that might possibly be construed as offensive the whole world would have heard all about it.

Stokes just seems to be a very unpleasant individual, following in the footsteps of Anderson

Astonished that England are still in this game, but IMO India have the upper hand with that partnership between Ashwin and Jadeja. Ashwin's proving to be a right thorn in the side with the bat - he loves batting against England, it seems.

Of course India will have to bat last, so if England can set a target of 200 or so the game will become very interesting. But I think England will have to bat well to put up a target that will challenge India - or bat very well if they can't knock over the Indian tail by lunchtime.

Rashid has come on in leaps and bounds. Just goes to show the benefits of a consistent run in the side, in helpful conditions. As a result he's getting the confidence of his captain, which is proving a virtuous cycle. Will be interesting to see what happens in the summer - if England keep Rashid and Moeen, or one of them has to make way as 'you don't play two spinners in England'.

Well Kohli clearly broken level 1 charge.
Showing dissent at an umpire's decision by word or by action.
Aggressive pointing towards the pavilion by a member of the fielding side upon the dismissal of a batsman.
really isn't hard to charge him really, anyway no idea what he said but looking at the footage now he clearly broke the 2nd part considering send off are not allowed and the the 2nd one not even the updated version of it since not bothered to go through the ICC Code of action articles so copied and pasted it from wiki.

anyway found the updated version on Cricinfo
" "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an international match"."
Kohli clearly broke that rule considering any words, actions or gestures that provokes an aggressive reaction from a batsman after getting out.

Sorry Red you can't defend Kohli now and get upset later when something like this happens to india and you know it does happen to india as well.

Lol just watched it again you can actually see kohli pointing the finger to the dressing room.

From my crap lip reading skills seems like Kohli said what why are you standing there you are out.
Stokes said a F word and a W word and kohli point to the dressing room.
Can't find any Swearwords but then again he doesn't actually have to swear to get a charge Red.

Anyway Red without india prejudice did you honestly think Kohli behaviour was fine in that game or period of the game, maybe they wasn't enough evidence to charge him or whatever but quite ridiculous to take action on one player and not the cause of why he behaved like that in the first place. Although ICC had enough reason to charge him on level 1 if the bangladesh series is anything to go by. really not sure why ICC didn't charge him really considering ICC don't lose anything since Kohli will plead guilty anyway and he getting what 50% fine and one demerit point or something.
England even pleaded guilty and ECB were thinking about appealing the punishment but said the punishment small and they don't want to risk a larger punishment they really could have just given the same punishment so the matter end there but no because kohli got away for something England feel hard done by and they got a point.

Anyway enough of this matter.
Hopefully the rest of the game and series isn't marred with controversy like this.

I saw a little of the play this morning. Anderson threw the ball at VJ and appealed for him obstructing the field.

A bit like knocking out someone's teeth and then complaining that they are mumbling.

Sounds an acrimonious series.

TBH what would nag me the most if I was an english player would be what he said to the umpires.
Can actually see why Stokes and the english player were fuming because I would as well if that happened to me.
Not sure I would like someone getting me to trouble and then have the cheek to grass me up to the people in charge and then get punished for it.
when you watch the recording again it is quite clear both are in the wrong.
Anyway off to bed now have to wake up early tomorrow to watch the cricket and write an essay at the same time.

Slight exaggeration , Arthur. I know you disapprove of Jimmy but in this case he was a long way from threatening the teeth since the throw (at the stumps : the batsman was actually standing out of his ground) was blocked by his pad ...

Since he didn't actually move to stop the throw , just stood in the way , the batsman was safe from the obstruction law - but I noticed he shot a quick glance at the square leg umpire ; which suggests there is a bit of gamesmanship going on from both sides.

Seriously I've seen a lot worse . They're both playing to win but I don't think the niggling has gone over the top - at least so far. Fining Stokes was possibly a warning shot from the umpires/referees to keep it that way...
