Guardiola is hopeless!

This scoreline is 100% his fault. As is pretty much every single goal City have conceded this season. I didn't hide my dislike of Leicester last season, but I'm actually loving this. I dislike Pep more than I dislike Leicester. You can't just send your team out there to not bother about defending. Not unless you have Messi and co. Other managers who play Kolorov at CB would be laughed at, which their position as manager questioned.

Three Champions League winners medals, and a ridiculous amount of domestic trophies in a short space of time might suggest he knows what he is doing......

He did create the best football team I, and as accepted by many other people, have ever seen.

when the likes of messi, xavi and iniesta fall into your lap, and you have the dosh to buy quality to fit in around them it does make things a bit easier

And some will say Rijkaard created that team not Guardiola. And I believe he won two champions league titles as a manager. Like Fergie.

It does seem Pep might have to try something different. Sending Hart out and replacing him with someone not as good for the cost of 18 million does mean his judgement should be questioned. That and buying Stones.

Iniesta was a utility wide man under Rijkaard, seen as a dribbling/run with the ball midfielder. Guardiola played him as an advanced playmaker for the first team and revolutionized his career. Guardiola built his team around Xavi in the centre, Rijkaard left him on the bench for a Champions League final. Pique was bought by Guardiola for a handful of peanuts, and will go down as one of the best signings in football history.

Yes he had Messi. He also lost Deco (European Midfielder of the year more than once), Ronaldinho (World Player of the year more than once), Liliian Thuram (one of the best defenders of all time), Zambrotta (named in the FIFA World XI the year before) and would lose Samuel Eto'o later in the year (Another multiple Fifa XI selection).... wonder how many managers could cope with losing that talent on their first few days in office.

He also inhereted a defence in injury crisis. The highly rated Gabriel Milito never kicked a ball that season, and would retire two years later in his 20s, after an injury at the end of the season before. His starting defensive partner Rafael Marquez would struggle to be fit that year, and would leave to join a team in USA and top flight football. And it might have been the season after, but his starting left back (Eric Abidal) contracted liver cancer and took time out the game, ending up being transferred to Monaco as he was finished essentially.

But guys like Busquets fell into his lap..... its not like Busquets was actually given his first game at Barcelona B by... you guessed it, Guardiola. And what about Pedro.... the same. Bojan too. Tello.... loads of the younger players that came through where his when he was youth team manager. In fact, a lot like Tello have flopped since he left.

And the players he brought in all did well. He had money to spend, but they also made money on transfers too. And he had to replace all but about 5 players from a Champions League winning squad two years before....

He might yet turn City into Barcelona. But right now, he's struggling to even get them into the top four. Which is both laughable, and sackable.
