no issues with the punishment but would like it to be applied all the time to all the teams.

Kohli certainly seems to get away with a lot

Ball tampering in the same way faf was
Giving Stokes a send off
Now this

If the rules are there they should apply to everyone

If that was the case Anderson would have set all-time records for matches missed through suspension

TBH dailymail said england did get away with it as well with Anderson and stokes not being saints.
Red said it before as well ICC are not bias they are just incompetent that they can't follow the rules in the same series/different series and they basically make it up as they go along.
IE since when was Swearwords the main criteria in taking action.
Really it is ICC incompetence that getting players and fans annoyed.
like you say Anderson been getting away a lot of times, Broad got away with a few as well.
seen plenty of times of india getting away with it.
Same with SA and all the other teams.
What is annoying when they take action on one team and not the other or in one series a crime is worth a different punishment but in another series they get away with it.

you hit the point in the nail there.
Anderson only really stopped sledging in 2014 after jadeja gate and I remember dhoni said at the time he only took action because it was Anderson and he been pushing the mark all the times so they wanted him punished.
think he said at the time that he wasn't going to stop sledging or didn't think he went over the mark because ICC/Umpires/Match referee never really took action.
that really the key if no one tells you anything or tell you to stop, you will just carry on till you push the mark.
Indian players shouldn't get arrogant though might have gotten away with it now, but i would be totally pissed if the indian players get banned overseas for acting like pricks in the field.
Hopefully Kohli pipes down a bit on the field, good captain and player but might need to cut down on the sledging and send offs.
doesn't look great and if ICC follows the rules he could easily miss games for india in the future, think he only need 3 or 4 instances and he will get a ban.
pretty easy to pile them up as well.
Stokes got 2 already in 2 months.
Bangladesh player got 3 in 1 month I think.

change of topic since when did people start rating Ishant thought I was the only fan that liked him.
"They have bowled quicker and that will hold India in good stead going forward. They have bowlers who can push batsmen back in the crease in all conditions. Ishant Sharma is a tremendous bowler but he can’t get in the team. "
seen quite a few people say india got good fast bowlers if Ishant/BK etc can't get into the team.

agree with him on many of his points as well.

Wonder how much it will actually be beneficial he unlikely to play CC games and max available for few weeks.

Anderson is also out of the 5th test.

That amir injury probably one reason why not sure the 5th test should be taking place, nasser said yesterday the ground was still wet and sand based near the boundaries.
they talking about bringing the boundaries a very long way but not sure the grounds is actually going to be ready on time.
plus both team won't be having any practice either till the test starts.
not a big deal now because it is the last test but not really ideal preparation either.

Must be some doubt whether Anderson will make it to the next Ashes series. Could be Broad. Woakes, Stokes and Ball or Wood? Anderson is out with war and tear but has hardly been overbowled in India, certainly by his career standards.

He'll be 35 then. Courtney Walsh played until he was 38, but 35 is still pretty elderly for a Test cricketer these days especially a bowler.

Wear and tear apart, it's probably about right to say there's been little decline in quality (previous point about defensiveness noted). He's had a disappointing tour of India, but that has been in line with seamers generally. He was as good as ever last summer. He didn't do that well in SA last winter, but again, he wasn't 100% fit. In UAE he was England's best bowler but mostly because he bowled dry.

This seems to be another case of Anderson being told he's not fit, when he says he is. It happened last summer and the press were miffed. This time they are likely to shrug their shoulders. Sensible managememnt or the beginning of the end?

He may have been fit if the series was still alive.

True, so that fits into the sensible management category.

Yep. If true then I would agree with that decision. Broad and Jimmy are going to have to be wrapped in cotton wool for the foreseeable future. Just checked and Broad is only 30. He may over take Jimmy, if the injuries stay away.

I get a feeling he is not interested. The series is lost, he has to work hard for little reward and doesn't help his avg. I think this wicket will help fast bowlers as its damp, so he might be missing out here.

I think it's clear now that he should never have been on this tour, his unusual stress fracture injury to his shoulder was a big warning sign if ever there was one. One again the way in which England manage their fast bowlers comes into question.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.
