Deck actually looks great, but field looks slow.

Can't really be too surprised by Woakes being dropped. He's had an ineffective series with bat and ball. He's bound to be in the team for South Africa.

I'm not surprised just disappointed, I've often thought Cook is not his greatest fan and he'll get treated as a mature professional rather than a young stand in when Cook goes. Watching the way Morgan captains him, compared to Cook, is chalk and cheese.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Not heard anything about Reiffel. Not officiating in any capacity.

jheez laxman sivmakrishen is a massive fan of chief minister of Tamil nadu.
For rich question she could also be the reason for the black armbands, she died last week.
From the stories I heard, she wasn't that great and was known to be very corrupted.

feels a little bit of a push for both teams to be wearing black armbands to mark the death of a state level politician

doesn't do any harm i suppose but didn't think it is such a notable event to merit them

Yes, it was as effusive as Tony Greig waxing on about a luxury resort in Sri Lanka.

TBH she big in india/Tamil nadu.
really the fear was her death would cause riots and maybe the test being moved but lucky enough none of that actually happened and the cyclone basically made everyone forget that she passed away.

Ishant gets a wicket Jennings goes for 1.

And not for the local tragedy. Could have at least been for both.

A wild swing outside off puts paid to Jennings. Another poor start for the opening partnership.
