India should bat all day. Really grind England. Let the press get stuck in (though that doesn't happen anymore. I guess I just mean Boycott).

agreed, with the personnel available i dont think any captain would have won the series, but if we do go on to lose this game all 4 losses are going to be by pretty significant margins

and the main reason i think cook might stand down are his own comments and how lacklustre his captaincy has been rather than the results themselves

33 overs left in the day.
Rich
if india bat 23 overs they still have 8 overs today which is about 30 mins.
if they bat around 20 overs they still get 45 mins at bowling.

and you lose 2 overs for the innings change so only 31 overs left

they could maybe squeeze in 20 overs and have 45 minutes to bowl but no more than that

i dont think india will be particularly worried if england do bat past them tomorrow and have to chase 100 runs or so late in the day, think that would be preferrable to running out of overs, and on this pitch i would err on declaring earlier rather than later

Apparently this will equal England's most defeats in a year. Started so well.

Getting the draw would give the series a little lift. As well as avoid equalling that loss record.
