Yep wouldn't have dropped Rashid especially for another pace man.
if he was dropped should have been Dawson or Billings or Bairstow.
Either a spinner or batsman.
5 pace men is too much for an odi team especially in india.

if you not trusting Rashid pick another spinner or just pick another batsman for him.
but then Willey needs to bowl 10 overs.

as i said between games i wouldn't have dropped him but not surprised he was, we dont know where his head was after that last game

and definitely not sure he will bring us the sort of control i am talking about, need someone who wont go to pieces against the sort of onslaught we saw from kohli/jahdav at the weekend and yuvraj/dhoni today, dont think rashid is that guy either

When 3 of your top 6 batsmen fail is's tough chasing 382 to win a game. Buttler keeps finding rather dozy ways to get out.

Only way to stem the flow these days is to take wickets

And Rashid is probably our only real option as a wicket taker

Today showed that everyone gets clattered these days, india look like winning because Ashwin took wickets in the middle while we didn't take any

personally think with England batting ability and the fact Rashid can bat that they can afford him to play and not bowl 10 overs and just be the Attacking option when they need a wicket.
They don't really have a bowler that can take wickets or even keep things tight in the middle.
both times india been scoring 7-8 runs an over in the middle overs so easily.

Just looking at it quite scary england got a bowling attack that can't actually bowl full 10 overs.

not gonna disagree with that in principle but against excellent players of spin he just seems a bit fragile if the batsmen go after him

its the bowling unit as a whole that need to sort things out tho not just individuals, at times the last 2 games its been like a bunch of headless chickens with just how poor their bowling has been

we've taken a couple of steps forward with the bat in the last 18 months and one big step back with the ball imo

only good thing is the champions trophy wont be played in these conditions
