Not sure about that , bfl . While the pitch remains good , there is something there for the spinners ; and India have three of them. Wouldn't be surprised to see them keep the second Australian innings to a fairly limited total - so even a modest lead might be sufficient.
I'm not certain this pitch will become unplayable in any case : fourth innings batting may be challenging , but not impossible.

India closing in on that 300. If they can't break this stand soon Australia could be facing a lot more work than they wanted today...

Indias batting depth compared to Australias seems to be the difference in the last 2 tests. It looks like this could be a match winning partnership unless Astralia can break it soon.

Huge moment, as India take the lead for the loss of no more wickets today. Australia are looking a bit desperate - just blew their last review on a clear inside edge. No more reviews for 50 overs. I think they will regret that one.

As for the lead, whenever you have somebody like Warner in the top order, a lead of 50 can be obliterated in 10 overs for no wicket, especially if the pitch is still playing well. But the longer India hang around, even if the lead isn't massive, the harder it will be to overtake it without losing a couple.
