wouldn't he have been out even if it was decided he had offered a shot as it was umpires call for hitting him in line as well

whether the umpire would have given him out if he had thought he had offered a shot is another matter tho

Could say he was unlucky ...very marginal. But not playing a shot tends to swing the decision sometimes , I think.

I don't know that the third umpire has the authority to overturn a no shot offered decision. Opinion is not evidence enough to overturn (imo).

i dont think the 3rd umpire can over-rule a decision by the onfield ump about whether there was a shot played

all the 3rd umpire will do in that situation is run hakweye to see if the delivery was hitting the wicket or not

what i mentioned was that given hawkeye showed the impact was also in line that technically it would have been out whether he had offered a shot or not as all the no shot offered does is mean there is no requirement for it to have hit the pads in line

Score barely moving. But that is what Wade and Cummins must do ...settle in , resist , accumulate : play more shots when they're able. If they try to just whack it this innings will be over in ten minutes...
