We have bowled a lot better than 120/1 suggests

So many edges, most of them for 4, yet we still don't have a third man in

Ervine bowling incredibly well, new ball could swing this game in our favour

Giles White just said Riley Rossouw has fractured a finger when he dropped a catch, unsure if he can bat, Edwards is a hamstring "tweak"

Chipped bone and hamstring niggle, will reassess in the morning but seems like we'll be down two players for the remainder of the game although Fidel will bat!

I wouldn't be too surprised if Middlesex ran away with the Championship this season. So even if we lose this heavily, I wont really bat an eye lid. A bit like Saints and Bmouth today, vs Man City and Spurs.

The pitch was quite flat, I was speaking to James Tomlinson for about 10 minutes at Tea yesterday and he said he thinks we will have a lot of draws at home and the pitch looked particularly flat.

We've done well to get them for 350

Last I heard from Solent - but a couple of hours ago now - was Rilee to bat at 6 (or 7, depending on if we lose quick wickets) and Fidel to bat with a runner. But both unlikely to be available for Yorkshire next week.

Anything on whether Topley will be available to fill the gap?

I spoke to Topley yesterday, he was doing 12th man duties (while Crane was fielding), said he was hopeful of being available

Reasonable enough day. I'm not sure how we can win from here - we'd have to bat for almost the entire day tomorrow, getting ourselves something like a 200 run lead; that would be a tough enough ask at two down, let alone four down with an injured batter to come. But seeking to beat the reigning champions is hardly my number one aim in this match. Getting a draw and collecting some batting points along the way would be more than sufficient, and we have a real chance of that now.

It'll be interesting how much Middlesex go for it, when it comes to them batting. Would they look to set us something? Would they look to get a move on, and give themselves as many overs as possible? Or would they be happy to just secure the draw? I guess it heavy depends on how close we get to them first innings, or indeed get past them. We could pretty much force their hand into taking the draw, if we bat deep into the second session or beyond.

Shame to see Carbs just miss out on a well deserved ton.

Every partnership so far has been 40 or more, except for the Carberry-Vince partnership of 13. That is really good going in book.

Great knock so far from Abbott. Gutting about Carbs.
