Crane comes on. Crane rips one to get a wicket.

Indeed. Young leg-spinners bowling full tosses has to be expected. My issue in the first innings - and largely with him in general this season so far - is that is pretty much the only thing he was bowling. It cost us a decent partnership for the second wickets (almost half of Somerset's entire innings).

But when he is throwing in wickets with full tosses, then that is absolutely fine.

It is one single wicket - and that of a guy in awful form, on a turning wicket. So exceptionally early days. But a wicket-taking Mason Crane this season is a scary prospect alongside a wicket-taking Kyle Abbott.

100/4, wickets falling steadily.

Obviously Elgar is a big wicket.

Dreadful run-out by Trego. Not that I'm complaining!

You have to say that it's Elgar or bust now.

And I guess you also have to say fair play to Bailey. His tactic of telling us to go out and smash it, is possibly going to win us this game. Somerset are taking the more 'normal' approach, and the result has been a steady fall of wickets today on single figure scores (including, I think, the number of runs Trescothick scored today - as I said yesterday, you almost treat runs scored against the new ball as being part of a whole different game).

I'd bring Abbott on for a few before lunch, see if he can get Elgar

Crane has bowled Elgar! With apparently a truly awful ball!

Now the focus could be on the fact that rain is due from about 3pm, and isn't scheduled to disappear until sometime tomorrow.

There should still be plenty of time for this game to get a result.

Hants dong well to hang to this game after an awful start. And as the season was starting to drift a little. Thought it might be close but they are well ahead.
I always say that everybody's right.
