Back to topic really fail to see how teams struggle to bowl 90 overs even with the extra time.

They really need to stop being slow in the morning and afternoon session and then they rush in the final session. It is stupid tactically as well considering they bowl less overs when the ball doing more or the batsman are quiet and bowling loads when tired and ball is getting older and batsman in top.
If they really bowled quicker in the morning or afternoon session teams would have less overs in the last session

Maybe the match ref should view it as a never-event, and prioritise it. The bowlers will stroll through a session... and then start running back to the mark to get an over in if a wicket fall near the end of a session!

Better than it used to be though- in the 70s-90s.

I've never seen a problem with tests starting at 10.30. This will allow a bit of leeway.

West Indies always used to say test matches wouldn't last much longer than two days if the had to bowl a minimum number of overs in a day.

That was when they had some great fast bowlers.
