Broad has missed remarkably few Tests over recent years. Bowling pace feels a bit like living over the edge of a tectonic plate. It could all end in an instant. But he has had a surprisingly healthy time of late.

Cricinfo followers suggesting SA will declare tonight. Really don't get that. SA will want to grind England way beyond the point at which the game is at stake. They'll bat on into tomorrow, given the chance.

No question ,surely ? Two more days ...if they can't bowl England out in five sessions then declaring today would mean likely defeat !

Looks as if they can bat as long as they want ; though a couple of wickets might change that.

Haha ...don't think it will keep me up much longer tonight. Have felt obliged to see just how England (and Root) cope with this kind of hopeless situation ; how much fight they can summon...good to see the energy of Stokes in that spell at least. They have kept things reasonably tight I'm pleased to see ; but SA are clearly not in any hurry yet . Might get ugly after tea...

51 really is a joke Ian.
Apart from bumble no one really cares about it either which is shocking considering overrates getting slower and slower every year.
I think only Arthur mention it could be cheating in terms of a draw.

When England are losing or it is very flat, they are pain to watch in the field so slow and they basically doddle in the field, stupid though since they usually get hammered and flogged in the last session.
Really wish England cap get fined or banned for it once, they really need to be thought a lesson.

I actually don't mind Moeen having a bowl now. But as SA have scored just 123 in forty overs today , and twenty of them came in two overs from Dawson , you can see why the seamers have been preferred.
