Should see how Mo stands up under aerial bombardment here.

Not really. I am not buying the whole " this is now the traditional Gabba pitch" nonsense we heard earlier, pitch still looks as quick as Micky Quinn

Still, he took that short ball on and once again he gets away with it. Rubbish shot, hands all over the place.

Bad pull shot from Mo. Sure he'll get a lot more chin music.

Sharp turn for Lyono. Supposed not to spin on day two at the Gabba, which is an odd theory.

Handy contributions from the tyro trio, with Malan on 38.

Wonder how England would feel about going into this game with Crane, if they could.

Swann launching into another moronic rant. Complaining about a wider ball from Lyon, but Ali clearly set up the ball before to go after him premeditated, and pulled out. Hes just throwing it out wider in case he considered doing it again.

Millimeter away from the edge. Lyon is getting into this.

These two batting for an hour against the new ball is a significant achievement. I suppose the slow scoring limits the advantage. But it looked like a big first hour after a reasonably balanced opening day, and England have taken it.

I knew England should have gone in with two spinners...

This feels like an Indian pitch bowling pattern. Bowl spin with the new ball, pace with the old ball.

If this pitch had been served up in Delhi, people would be setting themselves on fire in anger. If Lyon doesnt take a few wicket today, England could bat into day 4. There isnt anything there.
