TBH viv Richard team did bowl 90 overs in the day, the wi team generally bowled 15 overs an over.
Believe how many over they needed in a day on those days were more that 90 overs though.

At the moment even with spinners teams can’t even bowl 10-12 hours an hour, in england with the high tickets prices and generally people not really unable to stay till 7pm to catch train etc people are getting annoyed at the poor overrates.
Probably depends how much you paid for the tickets though.

Doesn’t look like too many are annoyed in sa about it though.

Saying that bowling 80 overs in 6 and half hours is very poor even when taking into account all the wickets and stoppages.

From what I seen from the deck, 100 runs might be all India need to win this.
Even 50 runs looks defendable.

You remember the over rates of Richards teams very differently from i do bhaveshgor. I remember several occasions when Patterson had a no ball problem and the team had to pay fines after the match.

TBH they probably still had to pay the fine considering the umpires were probably way more strict then and more overs were needed in a day but WI often bowled 15 overs an hour and that 4 pace attack was the forefront for the current 15 over rate.

Talking about this game they really should call it off, very dangerous for the batsman, especially when morkel is bowling he basically aiming at the cracks and the dodgy area.
I be very surprised if this deck doesn't get a poor rating, nothing to do with the greeness but the cracks and dryness isn't good for the game.

WI over rates were bad for the game as a spectacle and brought about the minimum rate. If you're going to pick an all pace attack, get them to bowl their overs faster. Slow over rates give them an advantage of conserving energy and is against the spirit of the game, and in most cases makes the game fail as an entertainment. Usually bowling slower overs is a tactic. You can't bring in a rule anyway that stipulates bowling too few overs is ok when it's not a boring game.

Yeah that is a good point, when the cricket is dull and team are actively bowling slowly it gets really annoying for the fans and the commentators.
think 15 overs an over is quite fair, they don't even need that anymore either since rates of 13 or 13.5 is enough now.

I'm not still annoyed by WI over rates after all these years by the way! I'm annoyed by them now.

yeah WI overrates in the past were ok or very quick by today standards, what happens at the moment is way more annoying, although have to agree with mike the overrates in this games isn't really annoying me, maybe because the cricket is quite good to watch and something is happening every over.
if the game is dull and it is so obvious teams are purposely bowling slow it can get really annoying to watch.
