Onions has Borthwick's wicket now. Unfortunately he was on 79. ;)

True. I hadn't taken that into consideration!

of course we have forked out for an opening batsmen who will probably head into the bank holiday weekend up here with 2 matches and no runs in his account.... and we all know how good the weather usually is for the May Day bank holiday... Mrs DF's birthday 2 years ago it snowed...... so that could be 3/4 of his very expensive time us proving fruitful for him.... not so much for us

A distinct possibility. Bank holiday + the great weather this week must mean Sod's law will apply and we'll get horrific weather in time for the holiday/game.
There is a 3 day Friendly against Scotland A starting tomorrow at the Riverside. There seems no chance whatsoever of any play at Northants tomorrow so they might as well come back now ...although if they did there would probably be in breach of an FTECB relegation or 2.

hey... we might get half a day in, we might get to bat, and Markram might score a well judged 50 to settle him down

although knowing our luck we'd opt for the toss, lose it and be asked to bowl :horse

Ironically a much improved weather forecast had Northampton Twitter account expecting play, some 20 mins before umpires abandoned the match. A month into the season and we've had 2 and a1/2 days cricket.

The final straw would be if the weather here deteriorates just in time for Friday's start!

They have a live scoreboard, from the current friendly, on the website. I only found the link via a post on the Scotland Twitter account.

The customary 3 quick wickets - although 40 odd for 3 is a pretty good start!

Marvellous. I wonder if any of their 'betters' will have a go in the second innings?
