That's just what I was thinking! Any other county and the answer would be obvious. 5 year deal as overseas player and captaincy in all 3 formats?

They 're trialling Davies again today for the 2nd which suggests they're not happy with either Richardson and/or Poytner.

Let's hope he does well. Those two at 6 and 7 is asking for trouble.

I'm assuming the post from him comes from Instagram because there are no recent tweets. Must be genuine.

helps with the injury concerns at least.

maybe he'll feel as though he has a point to prove?

the way I read the article it seemed as though Woody himself has initiated the move back. It did seem pretty clear that CSK weren't likely to bowl him any time soon

He'll probably get injured on the flight home.

tweak his hamstring half way through his first over for us and leave us a bowler short for the whole match

And meanwhile in India:

Axar Patel hit for 52 in his four overs

He's had a very poor #IPL2018 so far, having taken just three wickets and a top score of only 13

es.pn/2rByNri #KXIPvKKR #IPL2018

:horse
And Keaton Jennings has scored 2 hundreds in successive innings for Lancashire.

Could well be. Seems to be a lot of press speculation about Nick Gubbins but Jennings must be an option.

I wouldn't worry about Axar atm... he's coming back from injury after missing a fairly big chunk of the IPL.

whether he will be able to do anything for us later in the year remains to be seen, of course, but in the meantime I think it's important that he doesn't suddenly do anything spectacular that might see him force his way into the India side and leave us in the lurch

he missed 5 matches, which is around half of Punjab's IPL matches.

it's quite helpful that India play their T20 and ODI matches before the test series, because he may well be involved in the white ball stuff ahead of his stint for us so hopefully won't be coming in 'cold'

it would be a sickener if he got a test call up on the back of some stellar white ball performances and some injuries to key players
