I think it's pretty good, have a feeling we used to regularly get crowds under 3000. Next home game though is a Wednesday night.

Yes. That has to be it. I hope Colly will be ok for the next game, no need tonight to bowl his full overs and he seemed sharp enough in the field but was flexing his leg a few times.

hopefully once the ECB launch their 100 ball jobbie, the counties will be left to play their entire T20 season at times that maximise attendance and sales

and let the TV people who are systematically destroying the game cream in their pants over something else far less relevant

from cr@pinfo
The Steelbacks limited the home side's progress, and Graham Clark's attempt to cut loose resulted in the opener being bowled by Prasanna for 29. The arrival of Liam Trevaskis at the crease brought Durham to life as the left-hander blasted two straight sixes to provide impetus. His brisk innings took the pressure off Collingwood at the opposite end, allowing the veteran to find his rhythm.

The wickets of Trevaskis and Ryan Davies threatened to stymie the home side's late push for runs. However, Weighell found his touch immediately, scoring 20 off 14 deliveries.

first time it's worked, but it appears this is what we've been working towards, and perhaps with more match practice it'll help us as we approach the latter stages of the comp when Tahir leaves us

Hopefully. I suppose if we're going to have to rely on the Academy for most players we will have to give them responsibility. The good news is if Weighell and Trevaskis don't come off we have Poynter down the order to rescue things!

Guptill not in the Rapids squad. I assume he's left early for the CPL. They still look very strong.

Colly not playing this afternoon/evening (4.30pm start) - apparently the reason he was hobbling around was he got hit on the foot whilst batting.
The even worse news is Tahir's not playing either - don't know why but Martin Emmerson tweeted about the absence of those two. Makes a win highly unlikely - and Emmerson says we've only ever won there once in T20.

Ben Whitehead and McCarthy are in so the batting looks even more flimsy than last night and without Colly and Tahir it could go horribly wrong - we've lost the toss and are batting first.

Sounds as if Tahir might be stuck in traffic!
Not sure where Imran Tahir is. He was at the ground this morning and due to travel in his own car. Some of the players who have driven have only just got here. Roads were an absolute mess. #bbccricket

Falling apart at the end of the innings when 200 looked on the cards and the other problem ( apart from the inexperienced attack ) is that Martin Enmerson suggested 200 won't be near enough with the short boundaries.
Still, any half decent total could be a problem if we take wickets in clusters at any stage.
