And here's some more good news - next weeks visitors Sussex have reduced Leicestershire to 8/4 this morning.

I think the batting disasters have overshadowed how poor the bowling has been. We regularly seem to concede big first innings totals - even Leicestershire who are hopeless scored 400 at the Riverside.

mind you... we think we've got problems... Leics are 9-5 in their first innings... and they wouldn't release Ben Raine because they thought they might have a chance of promotion....

McCarthy proving himself to be a wicket taker this match, but 86 runs that partnership.

86 runs.... we'll probably have lost 5 batsmen by the time we've made up that deficit... and probably have to catch up the rest of their 300+ runs in the second innings later on today

All out at Edgbaston. 310 and the only good thing is the 10.30 starts must mean it'll be lunch now as opposed to us having to bat for 20 minutes before the break.

for once, McCarthy isn't the most profligate of our attack....... but if he can work in short bursts and take wickets, then I can live with that. It's when he isn't taking wickets that it hurts us, because every run the opposition score against us, feels like 10 when we walk out to bat
