credit where credit's due.... and I hate saying this....... Poynter's 46 ball 9, was probably crucial in surviving

better result than I thought it would be before the match started

I agree on both counts. Excellent from McCarthy and Warwickshire have a potent attack so we did pretty well to compete.

Not a bad effort at all against the division leaders. A fit Stone is a big challenge. Surely though for these final 3 games we've got to include Harte and Davies?

I would. Jury still out on Harte but if we can have another look it should help make decisions on what / who we need next year and there's no point giving Davies a deal and then mainly using him as a specialist 8 or 9 in the T20.

Rejoice, rejoice. 2nd "won" the play off by holding out for a draw and having lead on 1st innings.

Apparently it's the second win in 3 seasons. Rain helped but excellent last wicket stand!

Yes but to be fair hindered our batting on the 3rd day twice having to bat after torrential downpours. Swings and roundabouts.
Good 1st innings by Jones and Davies.

Yep. There's a good case for giving Jones another go in these remaining game as well as Davies. Chances are it will be a disaster against Sussex regardless so may as well try some new faces - although I have a feeling they won't.

Although on second thoughts maybe it mightn't be wise to send in the rookies against Joffra Archer!
