When England are bad there is no other team on the planet as diabolical.

Windies score did look pretty decent, but appears pitch has deteriorated since day one.

Doesn't help also when you have two frightened rabbits setting the tone at the top of the order. Where has that new England guns blazing spirit gone in the batting.

Capitulation pure and simple.

Still amusing though.

Wicket has not deteriorated. The Widies bowlers have hit the deck very well this innings to get pace and bounce. No dismissal of a ball that has stayed low. In fact I didn't see a single ball which stayed low.

I haven't watched a single ball, I was just going by the comments Collingwood was making yesterday about the ridges that were gradually starting to appear as day one progressed.

It isn't a great surprise after the humiliation the Windies put us through in the last test in England.

Should be instructive how Jennings does against pace given his runs in SL. Though this is supposed to be a slow pitch.

Spot on. One wicket down at lunch and " not very well" is how he fared against pace! Someone had a stat in Twitter - outside Asia his test average is 17!

Ahem. I'm going to double up and predict England make 340-360.

At least I wasn't slagging the top scorer off!

Better than Kingston in 2009. That was a great batting line up too. Apart from Owais Shah.

If we dont make the follow on, where does this rank on worst batting displays in English test history?

24 runs for the loss of a wicket. Lower order leading the recovery again.

Depends on how you rate this attack. England get out for about 50 v NZ in the late eighties, but they had Hadlee.

Bowled out by a one armed Malcolm Marshall.

Trying to bat v the 2Ws in the 80s/90s.

I remember a particularly bad attempt to bat against Warne at Adelaide in the mid nineties.

I think England bat appallingly on a regular basis.

Jimmy the Saint won't stay long.

Sensational if England follow on. What a kick in the balls that would be.
